The Real Me Is Truth and Love

Is love a choice?  Could you really turn away from love for good?  Could the need to feel love ever truly be erased and replaced with substitute emotions?  The opposite of love may be hate but I say indifference is a very close second.

Indifferent is a place where love is not absent, it is suppressed because
you are scared of the emotion.  Indifferent is a cold place, for love rarely shines there, you feel strong because you have placed a barrier, blocking your heart from scary feelings.  I'm not sure but I wonder if strong people consider themselves to be cowards?



Indifferent is a place where you are afraid of feeling the pain you have caused another, you would rather shut down than admit your faults and flaws, you would rather remain perfectly composed instead of imperfectly human.  You show no love, because you cannot summon the courage to show remorse.

All your efforts to sugar coat the past fall short, instead the chasm of pain only becomes deeper, time cannot heal the wound because you refuse to reveal the truth of your mistakes.  It takes courage to admit your mistakes, penitence is never easy, especially when pride stands in your way,
