It is easy to be a hypocrite, the recipe is quite simply. Say one thing to a person's face and then say another when their back is turned or say this is who you are and then act completely opposite. For some the hypocrisy runs so deep within that they are blind to the truth of it, for others, they know they are being hypocritical but they can't help this, the need to fit in with others within a certain group is too great to overcome.
We all learn to be hypocrites, it is the way we are taught to get along amongst ourselves. Peer pressure can be so strong that you will turn your back on your best friend if other people don't approve because they are weird, for example. Many a relationships are destroyed because your friend said he's ugly, he's broke, he's a loser, you know how you feel, but regardless of this, you start to see him through their eyes and you become a hypocrite to your own self denying what you really want.
Watch out for the hypocrites, they are always judging and criticizing the things you have done wrong. But they are really judging their own selves because none of us are innocent of sin, they judge you harshly because they have been judged harshly. They talk about you to turn attention away from themselves and the things people could say about them, they are trying hard to look good at your expense.
Being true to yourself no matter who is around you is one of the hardest challenges we face as a human being. The need to fit in and be loved by all should not lead you down the path of the hypocrite, be strong and stay true to who you are no matter what the circumstances. Love who you want, like who you want, be whoever you are deep down inside, we shouldn't have to be a fake version of ourselves just to fit in.
